This is Paywand
Paywand came as a 17year old refugee from Kurdistan
3 years ago he arrived with nothing. He trained as a gents barber with his brother. Now they have 2 shops in Glasgow.
Think a few of our own people should use him and his brother as examples of what folks can do to fend for themselves.
He got benefits for 3 weeks and decided this wasn’t for him and got a job.
He has told me why they came here his family and friends were victims of Saddam Hussain and had to survive chemical bombardments,he was only a baby.
His father was killed and his Mother was left with 6 young children to bring up.
He has photos of his town after the bombings and it was horrific.
Him and his brother support his Mum and 2younger siblings.
The admiration I have for these young men is wonderful
A few at home could learn a lot.
You don’t just get up one morning and decide to leave your homeland.
I have seen the reasons and can’t fault them.
While I’m on a roll
Some people in U.K. think they are downtrodden and persecuted.
Honestly they have no idea what these words mean.
They are now good friends of mine.
