Cima Della Trosa
backblip
Cima Della Trosa is not what you are looking at, it is roughly where you are looking from, at 6130ft.
The plan was... to take the cogwheel railway followed by the cable car to Cardata and walk. We had decided not to go on to Cimetta as that section was chairlift and my vertigo offered a strong opinion on the subject.
However, we ended up walking all the way up to Cimetta, which will probably where these were taken (it's a stitched pair - you don't get the scale until you understand that's a reasonable town nestling in the valley).
Now normally E is the one to want to see what's around the next corner, but on this occasion I was the driver. I didn't want to walk to somewhere I could have go to by 'public transport' so I was eyeing up the next peak along. E was eyeing up the fog it was surrounded by.
It cleared, and the path was pretty clear, and 'not that far really...". OK so it went down for a bit, and up for quite a lot but we got to the top, eventually.
We celebrated by eating the Geobar that had been lurking in the rucksack since leaving Cambridge.
The snag was, we had wanted to get to a particular shop before it closed so the only way down was going to be chairlift. There was a complex debate between my vertigo, my nagging left knee, and E's watch.
There's a tree on a distant mountain that's now been severely focussed upon.

And the shop was closed all day anyway.
