Road Race

An almost unprecedented closure of roads took place today in our village.....
to allow a 10 km road race to be held ~ from 3.30 - 7.30

the Main Street, as shown, was unusually clear (normally there is parking on both sides of the street).....
the beach promenade, the path way leading to the Lighthouse, the road connecting the village to our neighbouring town of Alfaz and several busy streets within Alfaz itself were all closed to traffic
The local bus service had to be re- routed and the taxi ranks were also moved .....
all on a Saturday afternoon .... when shops, restaurants, cafés and bars would normally expect to be busy with customers......
aha!?!
