Vole Snack

Snowflakes powdering the floor with an icing sugar sprinkle but the winds driving at a 45% angle made it cold today on top of the Cotswolds.

Bringing thermos, hand warmers and all the layers it wasn't until you got into the wind that the bite really got you however stretching my legs down the lane I spotted the shrike and he had spotted a vole. Result.

It would have been far too easy to wait for the owls in the car but this paid off and I managed a few (lol) yes just a few shots of him with his prey. Buffeted by the wind, branches between us swaying plus snow flakes, I was firing off as many shots as I could in hope! Trash bin full .....

A shot I'd always hoped for!
