On deck

Today's the day ........................... to sail

It was touch and go all day whether our ferry crossing from Brodick to Ardrossan would be cancelled - as the two earlier ones had.

The bitter wind was blowing gale-force from the east, whipping up the waves to a frenzy and hurling them on to the coastline.  Thankfully, things did improve slightly as the afternoon went on and the 'Caledonian Isles'  did set off, just a little bit later than the scheduled time.

Out on deck, it was hard to stand upright.  An intrepid artist managed to find somewhere sheltered enough to practise his craft.  As you can see, he had no competition for the seats on this deck - he could have taken his pick.
