Working all day at the EICC at the SDSS conference - Self Directed Support Scotland. Self directed support is all about putting people with disabilities and other special needs in charge of their own budget, rather than simply receiving services from the council. It means they can tailor their support to their own precise needs and it not only improves the quality of their lives but also seems to be more cost effective than more standardised provision.
