Quick Finish

One event at our show is called a Quick Finish. About 20 artists, using their chosen medium, will have 1/2 hour to finish a painting or sculpture they had started earlier. On the left, one sculptor is doing the acid patina on a prepared cast bronze. Most are painters in oils, watercolors and pastel. I used to do this from scratch.....a 3/4 size bust, but got tired of stuffing all the equipment needed into a very tightly packed trailer. It's still fun to watch my friends panic to finish by the time the gun goes off and they have to frame the still wet paintings. They are auctioned a few minutes later and the buyers take home something they saw the artist finish.
