Today was the second welcoming day for international students. There was a small fair on with various companies giving away freebies and trying to scare you into buying insurance.
And few more pointless introductory talks that lasted far too long.
Then we went for a tour of our Kiez. Since there was a lot of us, we were told to split into two groups. One would be a more comprehensive tour of the area filled with history and facts. The other was just a quick look around to point out the local bars and stuff. Of around 60 people, 8 of us went on the history tour. The other 50 or so went on the short one. I don’t blame them, it was around two degrees.
After the tour we were supposed to go on a pub crawl. We quickly discovered this meant ‘all 60 of us pile into a tourist shithole restaurant where beer was €5 and the servers were dressed in lederhosen’.
Our wee group decided to go to Lidl across the road and buy some cheap beer, then head to Claire and Tonas flat.
I took this photo of Ruben on the balcony of Claire’s 11th floor flat. We lit some candles and had some beer. Like yesterday’s post, it reminds me of a candlelit Caravaggio painting. It was a fun night.
