should have worn suncream

today is zambia independence day and it's raining for the first time since march! traditionally the rains should arrive on this day but in reality it rarely happens. it feels wonderful, it smells wonderful and sounds wonderful! i also ate a mango today. oh the joys of the rainy season. avocados next, wooooooooooo!

today is a public holiday so after crying my way through a couple of episodes of downton abbey (i'm only on the second series so no spoilers) kristi and i went on an epic bush bike ride. it was so ridiculously hot and i was ridiculously unprotected, as you can see from the tan lines.

looking like a zebra isn't the best look.

(p.s. it's sammy and milo's first rain but i'm too scared to go outside and see them after the snake incident!)
