Bagging Bilbao

Security incredibly quiet; flight left on time; arrived 30 minutes early; lady at the bus ticket kiosk understood my Spanish. That’s a decent start to a few days away.

Post-hotel finding and we took a wander along the Nervion to the Guggenheim. We’ve got tickets to go in tomorrow, but worth taking at gander at Gehry’s masterpiece / monstrosity *delete as appropriate.

Also couldn’t resist Koons’ puppy.

A street wander gave us a feel of the new town, and then over into the old town, where a Pintxos bar ensured a relaxed late afternoon.

I wouldn’t say Bilbao has a ‘beauty’ to it, but it’s a place with charm. Looking forward to seeing more.
