Small Stagshorn
Not sure what to blip today as I've had a superb morning in the woods - loads of fungi about as well as some new arborglyphs. I chose this 'small stagshorn' fungus (calocera cornea) as I'd mentioned the species a few days ago. Unlike the much larger 'Yellow Stagshorn', which grows on fallen coniferous wood, the small stagshorn grows on rotting hardwood. I was searching a new area of woodland for arborglyphs (see Monday's blip) on the beech trees when I came across masses of Small Stagshorn fungi growing on this fallen beech. At the same time I collected more than a dozen new arborglyphs.
