Speckled petals

Thank you all so much for showering my bearded reedling with hearts and stars. Having it appear on the first screen of the popular page is the icing on a perfect day out, one that I'll remember for a long time to come.

Today has been much more prosaic. Although we had some pleasant spring sunshine, the breeze made it feel relatively cool. Most of the day was spent at the computer, but Pete and I went out to do some botanical recording in Peterborough - unfortunately I think we chose the coolest, cloudiest couple of hours! 

I didn't really spot much of interest while we were out so resorted to photographing the hellebores in the garden, which looked rather lovely in the late afternoon sun.
