Hidden talents

It's surprising what talents there are in people, that mostly go unnoticed. A chap in our village makes all kinds of creatures from recycled metals and they are wonderful.

Although a few of these have been sitting around in his garden, it wasn't until the village had a craft show in the summer that people realised what a talent he has.

This is one that he made and gave to the boy across the road from us. It stands on the grass outside their house and I see it every day. I have been hoping for a bit of sun, as it really shines then, but no chance of any sun today. As you can see it is made up of all sorts of old metals, with two spoons and a bit of chain thrown in for good measure. I think it has real character.
