More nostalgia

Living with Mrs. K. there is no chance of becoming lazy.

“You may be in your eighties but why are you not climbing all those fells in the book which Wainwright wrote for old age pensioners? Just going up Arnside Knott is getting in a rut.”

So this morning off we go to climb Gummer’s How at the south east corner of Windermere. This is just a 1,000 ft. pimple to those blippers who are still doing their 214 main Wainwright fells.
Did I do it? Of course I did. An enjoyable little challenge. My book tells me we climbed it in Jan.1987, April 2009 and Aug.2012.

Why nostalgic? Well the photo taken from half way up and looking across Windermere shows the house in which for 15 years we had a timeshare. It was our annual base for the week containing New Year’s Day. Lovely memories.
