Holmes Mill

Two weeks off doing the long weekend run: one for 'flu, one for recovering from 'flu. I went out on Tuesday and did five miles, which was fine, but I was still a bit apprehensive about doing the half-marathon, today. It's been three weeks since the last one.

It was all right, I suppose. About five minutes slower than usual and, disappointingly, no point at which I felt I was really running. It was, I guess, just a bit boring.

My day picked up, this afternoon, though, as the Minx and I took her mum and the miniMinx across to Clitheroe for some lunch at Holmes Mill (would recommend). There was also a 'crafty vintage' affair on upstairs, which I had a quick mooch around before leaving the rest of the party to it and retiring to the bar with my book.

And after that, I recorded the radio show (parts one and two) before taking the Minx out for dinner at Cosmopolitan Cocktails in Chorley, which was a lot better than it sounds.

My photo, then, was taken at Holmes Mill. I bloody love the old Citroëns. Many years ago, I was the very happy owner of a C5, which, in many respects, is still the best car that I ever owned. Although, to be honest, I probably wouldn't swap it for four wheel drive, ABS, parking sensors etc etc.
