Day #9 of the USS strike. Yesterday we were presented with a proposal. I looked very dubious. Two positive aspects are keeping defined benefits and the fact the employers are paying a bit more. Negative aspects are accrual rate is worse, the threshold salary up to which DB is paid is lowered, we will loose the extra matched contribution and it's a transition deal. On top of that we are asked to reschedule missed lectures. Well, the response was a clear NO. After the morning picket we had a meeting in Tiviot. Apparently it was the biggest ever union meeting (see extra). Lots of discussion. We also found out that the students have occupied a building. We are all fired up, let's see what happens next.

On the picket line we were visited by this handsome crow. It did get fed by us.
