Tower Bridge by day and night

A little trip away for the family - after all, being in the business of helping others to have an enjoyable stay in our own city should allow us to appreciate the value of a short break.

London was not co-operating in posing prettily for photographs. It drizzled rain all day alternating with a few heavier showers. During our brief slip into Borough Market we were laden with weekend luggage and negotiating cobblestones with a child in a wheelchair, so not a chance for photographs. Wish now I'd gone back for another look rather than lazing about in the hotel in the afternoon.

On the bright side, we made it here, with very helpful assistance from staff of the various rail companies in getting A on and off trains. We also managed to negotiate the Underground system - fortunately the two key stations we needed for our journey are wheelchair accessible.

This evening we headed for an Italian restaurant near Tower Bridge which we'd eaten in last year, and where we'd arranged to meet our niece. Lovely evening in family company.
