Ayrlies Garden
Today we wandered around some of the ten acre garden and wetlands developed by the McConnell Family. Originally a dairy farm it was a vision that Beverley McConnell had and has succeeded at. Open to winds from all directions her first thought was for trees and there are hundreds. Underplanted with a wide variety of plants it was the tropical ones that I oohed and aahed at. Kalanchoe en masse, bromeliads by the hundreds. Lots of plants I had never heard of. The strains of music played by two violinists and a cello made it very magical. A picnic lunch served in individual boxes and songs sung by the Operatunity troupe topped off a lovely day.
Resting, then early dinner and off to see some Shakespeare.
See you.
