Englishman in the Balkans

Noćna svjetla (Night Lights)

Banja Luka is the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The architecture is a mix of really old Ottoman buildings, Austro-Hungarian influences, the brutalism style of Communism and new 21st century building fashion.

A veritable melting pot.

It's one of the things that makes this city so fascinating to me.

This image shows the rebuilt Orthodox Church of Christ the Saviour with the Gradska Uprava (municipal government building) behind.

The city father's are slowly improving the city, regardless of political persuasion.

It's taking time, that's for sure, but korak po korak (step by step).
