Reading my fortune

Once upon a time I thought that I could read palms. I read books about how to do it and tried it out on people. Pretty soon I realised that the secret to palmistry is a vast knowledge of mumbo-jumbo coupled with a good ability to read people. I still study people’s hands, mainly in secret (well, I hope they don’t notice) - some people have very beautiful hands others have less attractive finger holders. Mine aren’t too bad. I stared at them for ages just now. Mainly I remembered cutting the end off one finger when I was pruning roses. Luckily, I’m quite good at emergency surgery and stuck it back together and it looks fine now.
