A Swinging Mothers' Day

Chris, Kate, Joel & Sophie came over for a Mothers' Day lunch, after which we took a walk down to the park for a bit of exercise, in this case the swings.

In the evening, Tess & I went to the Bristol Hippodrome to see Brendan Cole (of Strictly Come Dancing Fame) in his latest dance show. Our friends Tony & Rosie had been given the tickets but have gone out to the USA to look after their grandson for a couple of weeks as their daughter-in-law starts back at work today, so they very kindly asked us if we'd like the tickets.

Although it's not necessarily the sort of show I would choose to go and see, it was a thoroughly entertaining evening. The band and singers were particularly good and Brendan Cole made sure that they and his fellow dancers got their share of the limelight. Some of the patter in between numbers was a bit corny but he had a nice line in self-deprecating humour
