Holiday

My father and stepmother who lived near Darlington had invited us to spend a few days at a cottage they had rented for a week in Northumberland close to the coast and Lindisfarne National Park.

His records show he sent off a deposit for £77-00 on January 25th and the balance of £133-40 on June 3rd for the week from 15th July until 22nd July.

From memory, we had a night or two altogether and then they left us alone for the remaining time.  Here the cottage in a very isolated location, not even in a village. I don't remember exactly where but I think near Elnick.
