In the Zone
I am bushed......whacked, knackered, pooped, spent....absolutely done in. Katy had a couple of free passes for the David Lloyd and she took Pat and I this morning. We went into the gym first and I went on both bikes and the cross trainer....I was positively buzzing! Then the icing on the cake....I swam ten lengths. Okay, it isn't amazing, but I haven't been in a gym for a few years and I haven't swum properly for a long time, it was such a wonderful feeling.
Yesterday I booked to do the mile outdoor swim at the Quays in May, I needed something to aim towards. When I started swimming today I realised how unfit I am...the challenge is on. I like, I needed a challenge especially after all the shit of this bloody knee.
Now, I was on a high after the gym and the swim so Pat, Jude and I went to Ramsbottom this afternoon. I walked all the way up the hill to the craft fair, but it was all packed away when we got there. I then started to struggle as we walked back down and I was glad when we stopped for a cuppa.
I'm pleased with what I did today, but I am so tired now. And....Pat and I get to do it all again tomorrow at the Marriott. Like I said, the challenge is on!
My sister posted a lovely pic of my mum for Mothering Sunday. I always looked more like my dad as I grew up, but as I get older I can see that I am looking more like her now.
