50th Anniversary of the Engadin Skimarathon

50 years ago was the first skimarathon. 11 years ago they started the halfmarathon. Today we did the half.
What a day! We started with heavy sleet and snow. It was so damp and wet, I thought the ski tracks would be hideous. Actually, thanks to the premium wax service, the skis glided beautifully.
I was very happy with my time and moving up the rankings. Two falls and a sprained thumb for my efforts, but for me the highlight was M getting to the finish. It's taken 3 years and 2 hours! 3 thwarted attempts didn't put him off and he's now a very happy man.
