Boat in the Mud

A morning walk at Emsworth cleared our heads and gave us an appetite for our lunch - homemade celery soup.  The miniature yachts were being raced on the pond so we stopped to watch them.  One had a flat battery and so it couldn't be sailed and ended up crashing into the side of the quay.  Luckily it was quickly rescued before any damage could be done. The walk was much quieter than usual, possibly because so many people were visiting their mums for Mothering Sunday.  Its always interesting to see the array of different dogs and groups of people out walking.  We met a nine month old Vizsla who was very pleased to say 'hello' and to be fussed.  This boat was moored up against the quay.  I liked the colours and shapes of all the bits and pieces on and in it.  I think it is used to row out to reach sailing yachts anchored out in the bay.

After lunch I did some more knitting, we chatted about cycling holidays in France (probably not for this year) and then cleared the kitchen of all the furniture.  We are having the floor tiles replaced tomorrow as they were not laid properly and so they all need to be taken up and new ones put in place. It will be good to get them done but it will likely take all week and entail considerable mess.  Then I went out for a very wet walk around the village. I feel in need of some sunshine and warmth!

I hope you have all had a good weekend.  Best wishes.
