Over there !

Its a Mountain Hare, still in its white winter coat so not that difficult to spot - he was not on the snow but there was plenty of snow still lying close by.

My earliest walk of the year. Out at the crack of dawn which was 6:30am local time and lovely to hear the birds singing.

Birding highlights are the local spring arrivals the Curlew and the Lapwing both with plenty to say for themselves.

A chance meeting with another local birder was an added bonus - younger eyes are always worth teaming up with. I could hear Skylarks singing he could spot them :-)
