Tora! Tora! Tora!
The baseball season has commenced and so Arthur and I went to see the Hanshin Tigers play the Yomiuri Giants at Koshien Stadium today. It was a very exciting game. The Giants scored one point in the first inning and the score remained at 1-0 until the thrilling fourth inning when the Tigers scored three points. Then, in the sixth inning the Giants scored two points with a home run, bringing the score to 3-3. However, the Tigers immediately followed that with another three points, and the score remained at 6-3 until the end end of the game. Three cheers for the Hanshin Tigers!
The extra is the Hanshin Tigers' new acquisition, Wilin Rosario. He failed to impress today, but Arthur and my father-in-law say that is because, being Dominican, he is not suited to playing in this cold weather. As the weather warms up, he will begin hitting lots of home runs.
Hanshin Tigers Song
On a more somber note, today is the seventh anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. There was a one minute silence held for the victims before the start of today's game. Arthur and I also placed a white rose on the temporary shrine for former Hanshin Tigers manager Senichi Hoshino who passed away on January 4th this year.
