Out of Season

I don't think of bearded iris as an early spring flower, but we have a couple hardy varieties that bloom at very odd times, offering lush blossoms right now when we need them to brighten up the garden. It's getting cold again, and will probably rain tonight, so they are fleeting.

Today was knitting group day: subtly interwoven layers of chatter, a variety of exquisite projects, and fine food.
