Trouble in Shangri-La...

Incognito

Me and my American friend Jessie, after a brief trip to Fuzhou Lu's many bookshops decided to take out our a cameras and do the tourist thing. Assured that we wouldn't have any trouble convincing Chinese people that we hadn't actually been in China more than a few days and were just bumbling tourists, we decided to see if we could sneak into the Marriott hotel.

The hotel's building is probably one of the tallest in Shanghai and we made our way up to the hotel lobby on the 38th floor, with a fantastic panoramic view of the city. That floor wasn't even halfway up - we're determined to get to the top next time!
