High mortality rate?

I hadn't noticed these earlier attempts in the DEEP water. I'll have a go with the net, because, counting back legs & ÷ by 2 suggests ≥ 3+ and at least one corpse.

So - I lifted out what appeared to be a bundle of 2-3 dead, or dying amphibians.
Result four, clinging like GRIM DEATH to a long time emaciated corpse. They broke apart and made it like bats out of hell for either pond or nearest cover dependant entirely on which way the were facing at the time.
Last time I did it, some time "before Alice", the entire bunch had popped their clogs.
