book day
After all the snow days last week, the children had belated World Book Day fun today. Eve’s chosen book was The Velveteen Rabbit and she went to school dressed in her rabbit onesie. It was a happily low effort outfit and we managed to steer her away from princess dresses, mainly because I didn’t want her to go up in flames - those things are made from an unearthly material and could probably melt if she sat too close to a radiator. She later thanked us for this, apparently the teacher was a little haughty about the number of Disney outfits on show - to me this seems a tad unfair as a book is a book and surely any reading is better than none for 5 year olds, even if a book is based on a film? There’s more snootiness around book days than I’d realised!
This pic is Zeke hanging out in his monster gown at Jessie’s. His chosen book was Where The Wild Things Are - fitting as tonight he was as wild as Max on the night he wore his wolf suit.
My working week is complete and I feel pretty pathetic after only 3 days of work and 8pm bedtimes.
