Preparations
I decided that, given the grey drizzly conditions outside, today was the day to start preparing my dried fruit ready for my Christmas cake. Here i have currants, raisins, sultana's and glace cherries soaking in some sherry with orange zest mixed in. It's going to take 3 days for them to absorb the alcohol and plump up, so by the time i finish my night shifts i'll be ready to add the dried ingredients and bake it. It worked nicely last year so fingers crossed it wasn't just beginners luck.
