George Gale & Co Ltd

This mirror hangs in our back room...anyone else would have it as a dining room, but we tend to eat all our meals on the large kitchen table, so tend to use this room as a reading room/ironing room/laundry-drying-room.

Anyway,  we bought this mirror from Gales in the late 80s, when I had a friend working there.  It was a fantastic brewery, properly old-fashioned and their brewery tours were great.  Locally, Gales pubs were our perferred haunts, since as well as selling good beer, they also had their own country wines.  Black Beer & Raisin wine was my favourite tipple!

However, the brewery was bought out by Fullers in 2005.  Here is a little bit of the history: Gales
