Dunes with a View.
Another glorious morning.
Started with a walk along King George V Memorial Walk , and out to Hayle Towans.
Climbed to the top of the sand dunes, and this is the breath taking view which greated us.
Absolutely stunning. These are the true colours.
You can sea St Ives in the distance.
I thought it a perfect photo for Wide Wednesday with the theme "Animals". Hope you can just see one man and his little dog!
As we walked back to the car we were looking at the birds in Copperhouse Pool, when we bumped into fellow blipperJennyg
She recognised Mr C first. Or rather his flat cap! Having seen his photo on blip a few weeks ago.
He didn't know he was a celebrity!
It was a lovely surprise.
MrC took our photo which Jenny put on her blip.SEE HERE
We just got back to the car as the hail storm started. ( Hail in Hayle!!)
It didn't last long, but unfortunately Jenny and partner got caught up in it.
We then collected some more pasties from Philps, and drove to Godrevy,
where we ate them overlooking the lighthouse.
It was then back to Hayle and the bird hide, and estuary. Along with lots of waders, including redshanks, godwits, curlews, assorted ducks and gulls, we also saw an avocet. Great surprise as we have never seen one down here before.
Then drove to Marazion and had a walk along the beach and down to the marshes.
Here we saw herons, egrets, pied wagtail, stonechat and rock pipit'
(See extra collage of avocet, redshank, stonechat and rock pipit.)
Now back for a cuppa and a Cornish ginger biscuit.
So far we have been very lucky with the weather. Hope it continues as our friends arrive tomorrow for a few days.
Once again many thanks for all your comments.
Also thanks to BobsBlips for hosting Wide Wednesday, and Cailleach for hosting Wild Wednesday.
