Clavering, Essex

Fine church.  This 17thC memorial celebrated the wife of a local worthy, remembered for her fruitfulness - Fower sonnes & Nyne daughters.  She died aged 36 years.
Extras - part of the magnificent sculpting of the above lady's memorial, showing grieving family.  Many of the children died early.
And a strange, later plaque, in memory of Mary, whose memorial is taken up with details of her husband - Captain Cook's astronomer on his second voyage  What a find on our first day out for some time.  Recovery on the way..
