Big Blue Bird Bandit at the Bait Barrel

It was a great couple of hours at the boat launch. Two different boat captains left their bait barrels open and unprotected. (One guy did it on purpose for my benefit, but the other guy didn't. He was perturbed.)

It made for some great drama, going from the smallest bird to the biggest. It went...snowy egret, giant egret, pelican, and then this blue heron took over.

The big blue has to position the tiny fish just right. He has to have it straight so that the fish goes right down his throat. He tosses his "catch"...to flow down his hatch.
