MindUp!
I attended a training today and was completely blown away by the office space we met in.
I forget that other people have things like air conditioning/heating, coffee machines offering all sorts of frothy love, bottled water (with sparkling and flavoured options in fancy glass bottles) fridges full of various inclusive milks* and trays of posh teas. And biscuits. Lots and lots of biscuits. All for free.
Teaching has got to be one of the few professions where staff take things from their own homes into work. We feed other people’s children. We resource our classrooms. We sometimes even furnish them. We top-up our classroom book corners. We supply tissues. So. Many. Tissues. And don’t get me started on glue sticks...all I’ve ever wanted is an unlimited supply of glue sticks.
I was however, not even the slightest bit jealous of the travelling in and out of central London. Everyone is in such a bad mood and squashed into cramped trains. The trains are slow. So, so slow. I’m not surprised they need free coffee. I’d need free therapy if I had to deal with that everyday!
*Soya, Coconut, Oat, Rice and Lactose Free all in ONE fridge. Imagine.
