Chestita Baba Marta

This 'martenitsi' was given to me by a Bulgarian pupil I have. Baba Marta (Grandmother March) is a traditional Bulgarian folk tale associated with the arrival of Spring. Baba Marta Day is celebrated on March 1st, but this was one of our snow days so my pupil brought her homemade 'martenitsi' bracelets to give out to her friends today.
