Day 6 - Dallas 2 - Solved It

Up early and decided to go to the Book Depository and Museum. The tour is excellent. Audio commentary by headphones was interesting and informative. It is not possible to take pictures on the 6th floor, which is from where Oswald fired his rifle. It is possible, however, to take pictures from the next floor up, from a very similar position. I was taken back by how close the car would have been to the shooting position. Far, far closer than it appears in all the wide angle films and photos that were taken at the time. The main pic here is from further away than Oswald’s shooting position. The crosses on the road are the exact spots where the two shots hit President Kennedy. I am only an ok shot, but with a decent scope, could easily have made the shots, especially as it appears that Oswald’s first shot missed. The high buildings around the site would have had echos from the shots, so easily making anyone there hear the sounds as though they were coming from other directions, plus potentially increase the numbers that were heard. I am no longer someone who thinks that there might have been two shooters. It was only Oswald. He certainly needed to have had support from other, as yet not released or unknown co-conspirators. However, he was alone on the day itself. Solved it. A great man was lost to the world that day.
Wandered around town for a while and bought a Stetson. Nearly bought boots as well until Mrs SoL spotted what I was trying to do. Had an amazing steak in the late afternoon; almost half a cow. Spent the evening dozing it off at the hotel while Mrs SoL watched the Oscars. Well done Gary Oldman. Off to be a cowboy tomorrow.
