Now we have everything

4D Jung

So the day of our 4D scan finally arrived! After enjoying a lovely dad-prepared English breakfast, and picking up my sis and nephews, Robin, the gang and I arrived at Window to the Womb at 1:30pm.

I've always thought 4D scans resulted in alien-like pictures of babies who all look the same. However it was lovely to browse the pictures that people had sent in of their scan pics versus a pic of their newborn. They covered every wall. Some were really uncanny whilst admittedly others you could've probably swapped and not noticed the difference!

When the sonographer had finally finished her lunch they took us into a low lit, cosy room. It had the usual bed, scan machine etc set-up but also had a toy box to keep the children entertained and a big sofa area for Robin, sis and dad.

The moment the scan started I was oblivious to everyone else in the room. I was a little worried at first as the quality of the 2D scan wasn't that great but it got better and when they flipped into 3/4D mode- wow!

It was crazy to see his face, and even crazier to recognise him! He looks so much like his cousin Lewis, Rob's nephew, especially around the eyes and nose. Just goes to show he's going to look like his daddy! As I guessed :)

He was head down and looked snug in what looked like the smallest space possible. He also had his feet in front of his face, crazy boy, and when it wasn't his feet, it was his hands or arm.

When we got home Robin had to work so it gave me an excuse to nip to Carrie's house of domestic bliss (both kids were asleep!) to show her the pics and play the DVD. I then did the same at my sister's- even though she was there :) And then again with my mum when she got home from work.

We finished the day with a movie (Snow White and the Huntsman, actually good) and far too many aniseed balls.
