It's a sad day

I popped to the zoo today as all the snow disappeared over night. Whilst there i heard the sad news that my favourite chimp Billy Joe had passed away. She developed deep vein thrombosis and the vets decided it was kinder to put her to sleep whilst still under anaesthetic. 
This is the chimp that was rescued from a lab at a young age but was already psychologically damaged and therefore unable to be rehabilitated and released. 
Good news for the cheetah though, this is one of the two new French males that has come to mate with the female. Handsome chap isn't he ?
