Holiday Postcard to you

Here's my happy holiday postcard to you. Would love to say "Wish you were here!" but there really isn't room on the boat!

At 5am our alarm rang and we got up so that The Man could set off to drive to Edinburgh to get #2 Daughter and her partner as there have been no trains out of Edinburgh for days.

A quick lunch once they got back down to Penrith and then we were fully packed up and off, heading south.

We arrived safely at the Great Haywood Marina just before 5 after an uneventful journey in the 2 cars. The M6 was completely snow-free and, in fact the only part of the journey with snow across all the road was Mile Lane in Penrith. Thankfully Kat's Partner drove our car saving The Man more driving. I travelled with The Mate in the Land Rover.

It's Kat's birthday today so time for non-dairy tiramisu again! She says she is saving her real celebrations for tomorrow so no Prosecco or birthday cake yet.

Now will we get past the ice and out of the marina tomorrow?
