Pipit
We plodded down to the Shore but as expected the market wasn't happening today. Some of the farmers are probably still snowed in. So we went up the Kirkgate to the £eith Chooses event, where we got to vote for funds to go to our choice of local charitable projects. It's been in the Drill Hall in the past but seems to have outgrown it. It was all very lively.
The wee bird was sitting beside the Water of Leith, looking cold and hungry. We tried to give it a few crumbs. The (mostly frozen) water was covered with mallards, swans, Canada geese, goosanders, mergansers, etc and a pipit seemed very out of place. Mr H thinks it was a meadow pipit because it has a "kind" face. :-)
