Date Night

OK, I know that this is supposed to be an artistic website. I also know that any of you that follow this blog are well aware of my lack of artistic talent... I am taking picture as a hobby and trying to copy your artistic gifting!!!! However, today I saw this happen and thought that the blippers of the world could use a good laugh. So, here you go.

I was sitting in Starbucks today trying to get some work done on my day off. This couple walked up and asked if the chairs next to me were free... They were. They were a beautifully dressed, very good looking middle aged couple. They sat down, chatted a bit, laughed a little and then the woman's phone rang. She answered, continued to drink her coffee and nibble at the carrot cake they ordered. The man pulled his phone out (note it in his hand) - he apparently had no emails or calls. So he went to sleep. She talked it up on the phone, finished her coffee, the cake, his coffee... her conversation. About thirty minutes later she finished up her conversation. Woke him up. And they left. It was incredible.

It was probably totally disrespectful to take this picture, but I could NOT help it. I thought it was so funny!

My roommate Sarah said that at their stage in marriage it was probably the perfect date night for them. She got some good time with a girlfriend, a couple of cups of coffee and carrot cake and he got some much needed rest.

I just kept thinking, Lord have mercy on the man that gets stuck with me - this is going to be his fantasy date night as much as I talk...
