Chasing The Snow : The Barrier

Today I decided to go chasing the snow - the thaw was on and I wanted to capture some images before the snow was gone. The temperature has risen a bit since yesterday but there was still quite a lot of lying snow this morning. The wind had done it's work yesterday and there were drifts at the edges of all the fields - in some places it was nearly knee deep and in others it had almost melted completely.
These are all images (see extras as well) that are part of my project The Valley In Between. Today's main photograph was taken on the newly built access road that sweeps down to Peters Village - I really liked the layers in this shot, from the slush in front of the barrier to the misty sky and the buildings on the horizon.
By the time I finished my walk (with my brother for company) I was exhausted but luckily there was a warm pub waiting for us right near the end. Bliss!
