Now, as I see it......

Thaws-day

With temperatures reaching a balmy 0.8c today the snow has started to melt. However, I decided to give the rugby match a miss as even though the main roads were clear, I could have had a problem getting my car away from my house. I've added an extra of the back of the house; my car is the mound of snow visible over the fence, and there is a fairly steep slope from the drive to the road and then up past the front of the house, both of which were icy.

Instead, we had a walk down to the chicken farm outside the village for some eggs, and I took this shot on the way. We then went to the exhibition of the proposed Neighbourhood Plan in the village hall where we got good news; the two fields next to our house have not been recommended for development so hopefully we should retain our views from the house. It still needs to go to a local referendum but we are hopeful the plan will be passed.

The cold weather has certainly brought in birds from the fields; we've had several Fieldfares around and this afternoon I spent quite a while watching a Goldcrest feeding in the holly bush.
