Sweetheart roses

Today is my mother-in-law's 85th birthday.  We went to visit,  arriving at the same time as my father-in-law.

My mother-in-law is  in a care home (she has dementia and can no longer walk), my father-in-law (who is also 85) visits twice a day and brought my mother-in-law these for her birthday, chosen specifically because they are sweetheart roses. 

I am always struck by his devotion to his wife - truly an embodiment of their marriage vows. 

I am also always struck by the the wonderful caring attitude of the staff at the care home.
