Question, questions, ...

It was supposed to be gardening at Bramall Park this morning, but as we didn’t have any pickaxes to break through the frozen soil, we held a planning meeting instead, in the café.  Most of the discussion was about what to have for breakfast ;-)  The cafe is very good.

I’d got there a bit early and was wandering around with my camera.  This raised many questions :-

Why is there a sign saying “no ball games” on the croquet lawn?

Why were there so many broken sledges scattered around the park?

And why, if your sledge broke, did you just leave it in the park for the one person (Jeff) who keeps the park tidy to clear away?

And why did some of you with broken sledges throw them in the pond where Jeff can't reach them?

I don’t suppose I’ll ever know the answers – apart from the answer to the first question – the lawn is no longer used for croquet and the windows of the hall are very old.

But has the quality of sledges really deteriorated to the point where they are now 'single use'?  No wonder we have a plastic pollution problem.
