Christchurch "Cardboard Cathedral" (Fisheye)

We've been rewarded with a lovely sunny day for our last whole day in New Zealand, which we've spent looking round Christchurch. What a fascinating place - and what wonders they've been working since the horrific damage from the earthquake 7 years ago.

We started with a walk from our camping site through the botanic gardens, then took a tram ride round the central district to get our bearings. After that we wandered round looking at (and photographing, of course!) lots of interesting buildings, murals etc.

The highlight was the Cardboard Cathedral, built as a semi-permanent replacement for its severely damaged predecessor (which we were delighted to hear is now to be restored rather than demolished).

I liked the effect produced by the fisheye lens for the main shot of the interior (the cardboard supporting columns don't really bend like that! - as you can see in the extra, looking the other way through the colourful window, taken with my standard lens).
