Brand New Yellow Admiral

This is the freshest yellow admiral I have seen for some time. Lately most of them have been rather tatty.

This morning I had the rare opportunity of watching the full moon set. There was a lot of heavy cloud, but not over the Big Ben Range where the moon was setting. It was a beautiful sight, but I still don’t have my zoom lens, and I didn’t get the shot I wanted. See extras. While watching the moon I glanced at other parts of the mountains and saw the first light on Mount Torlesse. I like that shot better than the moonset shot.
